"Wow wow wow! I am SO impressed with our photos from our shoot with Monica at Golden Hour Doula & Photography.
We had our family photos done down at the beach and I honestly wasn’t sure how it was going to go with three kids aged 5 and under and a baby on the way 😂 We’ve never done a family shoot like this before because the thought of trying to wrangle three little kids while also getting nice photos sounded like a lot!
But Monica was amazing with the kids. She was so patient and calm and just really knew how to work with them, which made the whole experience feel so easy and relaxed.
She also brought along a selection of outfits for me to wear, which was such a lovely touch. I’ve been feeling pretty big, slow and stretched lately with pregnancy, so putting on something beautiful and having photos taken where I actually felt gorgeous was really special. It made me feel like my body was being celebrated rather than something I needed to hide.
And the photos… honestly, I feel like they speak for themselves! We even got a sneak peek just a few hours after the shoot, which was such a lovely surprise.
If you’re thinking about getting family, maternity or newborn photos done, I would absolutely recommend Monica. She made the whole thing so much easier and more enjoyable than I expected, and we now have such beautiful photos of this little season of our family’s life. ❤️"

"The photos Monica captured of our family are honestly some of my favourite photos we’ve ever had.
We’re about to welcome our fourth child, and looking through the photos really brought home that this is a little season of our family that we’ll never have again; three young kids, my wife pregnant, and all of us together at the beach. Monica captured it beautifully.
I particularly loved her documentary style of photography. With three kids aged five and under, trying to get everyone to stand still, look at the camera and smile on cue is probably a recipe for disaster! Instead, Monica gave the kids space to be themselves and captured what was actually happening- playing, exploring, cuddling, laughing and interacting with each other.
That style is so well suited to family photography because you don’t feel like you’re constantly trying to manufacture the perfect photo. We could just enjoy being together while Monica worked around us, and the result is a collection of photos that feel natural and genuinely like our family.
She also captured some beautiful maternity photos of my wife. Monica had outfits available for her and made her feel really comfortable throughout the shoot. Seeing those photos afterwards was pretty special- she looks incredible, and I know they’ll mean a lot to both of us in years to come.
The whole experience was relaxed and enjoyable, and getting some sneak peeks through only a few hours later was a great surprise.
We’ll have these photos hanging in our home for years. I’m very grateful we had Monica capture this chapter of our family before the next one begins.
